
I want to tell you a story about my partner, Casey.
Not because it's dramatic. It isn't. There's no rags to riches moment, no overnight miracle, no lucky break. It's actually the opposite. It's a quiet, ordinary story about solving one small problem for one specific type of person... and then letting that one thing grow into something far bigger than we ever set out to build.
If you take one idea away from everything we teach at Launch You, I want it to be this one. So let me show you how it actually plays out in the real world, not on a slide.
The one problem
Casey runs her own brand in the positive psychology space. And for years she kept bumping into the same frustration, over and over, with the women around her.
Busy women. Mums. Entrepreneurs. Women running households and businesses and everything in between, working long hours, giving everything to everyone else... and completely neglecting themselves in the process. They knew self-care mattered. They wanted a routine. They just couldn't stick to one. Life got in the way, every single day.
That's it. That's the whole problem. Busy women who struggle to stick to a self-care routine.
Notice what we didn't do. We didn't say "we help women feel better." We didn't say "we're in the wellness space." That's the mistake almost everyone makes. They go too broad, and when you try to speak to everyone, you speak to no one. We got specific. One problem, one person, in her words, felt in our bones because we'd watched it happen right in front of us.
That specificity is the whole game. It's the difference between a business and a headless chicken.
We tested before we built anything
Here's the part most people skip.
We didn't spend six months building a beautiful brand and a fancy website and a huge product range hoping people would show up. We built the simplest possible thing that could solve that one problem. A journal. A self-care journal, with a proper strategy behind it for actually building the routine and making it stick.
Then, before we invested in anything serious, we tested it.
We gave the whole journal away. The entire thing, as a free PDF. If you like the idea of it, here you go, it's yours. We ran a small amount of ad spend behind it, five or ten pounds a day. One of our best performing ads was just me holding a phone, filming Casey turning the pages. You couldn't even see her. Just her hands, moving through the journal, while she talked through what it was and how it solved that self-care problem.
No studio. No fancy lighting. No performance. Just a real thing, filmed on a phone, put in front of the right person.
And people wanted it. That's validation. That's proof, before we'd bet the farm on anything.
Then it grew, one step at a time
This is where it gets interesting, because from that one validated problem, the business opened up in front of us like a fan.
First, the digital. The free PDF proved there was real demand. People opting in, downloading it, actually using it. Next we started charging for it $6.99. People bought it.
Then, the physical. Once we knew people wanted it, we added a printed version. And roughly fifteen percent of the people opting in for the free digital journal chose to buy the physical one. That became a whole funnel in itself. Same problem, same person, just a different way to solve it for the ones who wanted to go deeper.
Then, Amazon. A physical product opens a door that a PDF never can. So we took it onto Amazon, and suddenly we're in front of a whole new audience actively searching for exactly this, people we'd never have reached through ads alone.
Then, affiliate revenue. Once you've built an audience around one problem, and they trust you, you become their trusted guide. You can recommend the tools, the products, the resources that genuinely help them with that same problem, and earn commissions doing it. You're not spamming links at strangers. You're pointing people you've already helped towards more things that help them.
Then, coaching applications. And of course, when you consistently solve a problem for someone, some of them want more of you. They put their hand up. They want deeper help, and they'll pay for it.
Look at that list again. Digital product. Physical product. Amazon. Affiliate income. Coaching. Five real revenue streams.
Every single one of them grew out of one problem, solved for one person.
We didn't start with the master plan. Nobody could have. We started with the journal, and the journal earned us the right to build everything that came after it.
The thread through all of it: routine
Here's the bit I love, and it's almost too neat.
The journal's whole job is to help someone build a routine and actually stick to it. And building the business was exactly the same discipline. Not a genius idea. Not a big launch. Just showing up, testing one thing, keeping what worked, and doing it again. And again.
That's the honest secret nobody wants to hear. It isn't about being the smartest person in the room, or the most creative, or having some unique idea no one's ever had. It's about picking one real problem and sticking to the routine of solving it, day after day, until the momentum becomes real.
Temporary intensity creates permanent leverage. You put concentrated effort into building the thing, and then it keeps serving you long after the hard part is done.

Everything you just read is our Mission Map framework, whether we labelled it or not.
Prepare. Find your niche, something you actually care about. Know exactly who you're helping,
your avatar. Then define the one problem you're going to solve for them, and test whether people will pay before you build anything big. This is the phase that matters most, and it's the one everyone rushes past.
Launch. Once you've proven the idea, now you build the proper machine. The brand, the website, the funnel, the follow-up. Casey's brand had room to grow into all of it precisely because we solved the problem first and named the brand second.
Grow. Now you scale. Traffic, leads, sales. New angles into the same niche, each one bringing in a different slice of the same audience. This is where it starts to run without you.
Prepare, Launch, Grow. In that order. Do it out of order and you'll spend months on logos and websites for a business you haven't even proven yet.
And sitting right at the heart of it is OPS. One Problem Solved. The idea that you don't need to invent anything, or be a guru, or have all the answers. You just need to be a few steps ahead of the person you're helping, solve one real problem for them properly, and build from there.
So here's my question for you
Not ten problems. Not a complete business plan. Not a perfect brand.
What one problem could you help someone solve, starting this week?
Because if you can answer that, you've got everything you need. The niche the problem lives in. The person who has it. The offer that solves it. And from that one small thing, just like
Casey's journal, a whole business can grow.
Start with one problem. Stick to the routine. Let it grow.
